Monday, May 5, 2025 - United States President Donald Trump has claimed that he has been investigated more than Al Capone and anyone else in the history of the country.
Trump made the statement during a Sunday interview with
NBC’s Kristen Welker.
The US leader, however, asserted that he had prevailed in
all investigations against him.
“I’ve been investigated more than any person in the history
of the United States of America,” Trump said.
“I’ve been investigated more than Al Capone, more than
anybody and I won.”
Capone was an American gangster and businessman who rose to
infamy during the Prohibition Era as the co-founder and boss of the Chicago
Outfit from 1925 to 1931.
His seven-year reign as a crime boss ended when he was
imprisoned at the age of 33.
Born in New York City in 1899 to Italian immigrants, Capone
joined the Five Points Gang as a teenager.
He later moved to Chicago in his early twenties and became a
bodyguard to Johnny Torrio, the head of a criminal syndicate involved in the
illegal alcohol trade.
Capone died of cardiac arrest following a stroke in 1947.
