Monday, August 10, 2026 - EastEnders star Kellie Bright is leaving the BBC soap after 13 years as Linda Carter, bringing one of Walford’s most recognisable eras to an end.
Bright confirmed the news this week, saying she had decided it was the right time to say goodbye after more than a decade in Albert Square. Her exit will form part of a major storyline that is expected to conclude in 2027.
Bright first appeared as Linda in December 2013 alongside Danny Dyer’s Mick Carter, with the pair becoming closely associated with the Queen Vic.
Since then, Linda has been at the centre of some of EastEnders’ biggest and most dramatic storylines, including the hugely publicised “The Six” plot. Bright said the decision to leave was made more than a year ago, but she agreed to stay longer after producers presented an “exciting storyline” for her character.
