Friday, September 18, 2026 - Tributes are pouring in for British-Ghanaian rapper Sway Dasafo, whose death at 44 was announced on September 17, 2026.
The MOBO-winning artist reportedly died at his home in Ghana, although no cause of death has been publicly confirmed.
MOBO Awards described Sway as an important part of its history, while KSI paid an emotional tribute to the rapper as a father figure who believed in his early musical ambitions.
Giggs and other figures from the UK music scene have also shared messages remembering Sway as a major influence.
Sway’s impact extended beyond his own music, with his work helping bring UK rap to a wider audience and support emerging artists through Dcypha Productions. Friends also remembered him as a pioneer and said he leaves behind four children.
