Pokemon’s $140 mystery TCG skateboards immediately sell out and resell for $1,000

Monday, October 19, 2026 - Pokémon fans and collectors are scrambling to get their hands on a limited-edition skateboard collection after a collaboration with Santa Cruz Skateboards sold out shortly after launching on October 17, 2026. Priced at $139.95 each, the mystery decks feature artwork inspired by the Pokémon Trading Card Game, turning collectible cards into skateboarding merchandise.

The release celebrates Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, with buyers receiving one randomly selected design in sealed packaging. Demand has been so strong that the products have already attracted attention across resale marketplaces, where some rare designs are commanding dramatically higher prices.

The collection includes 30 standard skateboard designs featuring Pokémon card artwork, including popular characters such as Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur and Umbreon. Three special gold variants add another layer of exclusivity, with each reportedly limited to just 500 copies worldwide.

The mystery format means customers cannot choose their preferred design when purchasing a sealed deck, creating the same element of surprise that drives trading card pack openings. While the original price was just under $140, resale listings have pushed some decks far beyond their retail value, with one Rayquaza design reportedly reaching $1,000. However, resale asking prices do not necessarily reflect what buyers are willing to pay.

The rapid sellout highlights the continuing commercial power of Pokémon collectibles and the growing overlap between gaming culture, streetwear and limited-edition merchandise. For collectors, securing a deck at retail price has become a challenge, although some local skate shops may still have stock available.

For resellers, the release presents an opportunity to profit from scarcity, but buyers should be cautious about inflated prices and verify completed sales before making expensive purchases. With rare designs attracting intense interest, the big question is whether the collection will receive a restock or remain a sought-after collector’s item. For fans who missed the launch, checking authorised retailers may be the best first step before paying a premium on the secondary market.
