Monday, July 28, 2025 - President Donald Trump said Monday that he will likely implement a tariff between 15 and 20 percent on imports to the United States from countries that have not negotiated separate trade agreements.
Trump made the remarks to reporters on Sunday, sitting
alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at his golf resort in Turnberry,
Scotland.
For trading partners that do not negotiate separate deals,
Trump said that the tariffs will be somewhere in the 15 to 20 percent range,
adding it would be one of those two numbers.
The U.S. has concluded trade agreements with Britain, the
European Union, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
It is continuing negotiations with other major trading
partners, including South Korea, ahead of the August 1 deadline for tariff
negotiations.
